A photo from your phone lying on its side, a scan that came in upside down, a selfie where the text reads backwards like a mirror — these are exactly the moments you need rotation and flipping. This tool supports 90, 180, and 270 degree rotation along with horizontal flip (mirror left-right) and vertical flip (mirror top-bottom), and you can apply rotation and flip together to land on precisely the orientation you want. Every time you change a setting, the preview rotates and flips in real time so you can adjust while watching the result.

Rotation and flipping are handled losslessly by the browser canvas, which simply re-places the pixels — only the orientation changes, with no drop in quality. For 90 and 270 degree rotations the image is drawn onto a canvas whose width and height are automatically swapped, so it is saved in full with nothing cropped. Everything runs on your own device and the photo is never sent to a server, so you can correct the orientation of even sensitive images with confidence.

Photos taken on a smartphone in particular often appear sideways when opened on a PC or in another program, because of the orientation-sensor data stored by the device. A single 90 degree rotation puts them back upright, and a selfie shot in mirror mode with text flipped left-to-right is easily restored with a horizontal flip. The rotation angle and flip state are reflected in the preview instantly, so you can confirm the most natural orientation and then download.

How to Use

  1. 1

    Select an image

Drag in the photo you want to reorient, or add it with the file picker. The preview appears right away.

  2. 2

    Choose rotation

Use the Left/Right 90° buttons to turn it step by step, or pick 0, 90, 180, or 270° directly.

  3. 3

    Apply a flip (optional)

If needed, turn on horizontal flip or vertical flip. These can be combined with rotation.

  4. 4

    Apply, then download

Click Apply to generate the result. Check the preview and save it with the download button.

When It's Useful

Fix a sideways phone photo

Stand a smartphone photo that turned horizontal on your PC back upright with a single 90° rotation.

Undo a mirrored selfie

Restore a front-camera selfie with left-right reversed text naturally using a horizontal flip.

Correct scan orientation

Set upside-down or sideways scanned documents and receipts to an easy-to-read orientation with a 180° or 90° rotation.

Fix orientation before posting to social media

Lock a photo that rotates oddly on upload into the correct orientation in advance, then post it.

Tips

  • A sideways photo is usually corrected with a single Right or Left 90°. Confirm the orientation while watching the preview.
  • A horizontal flip is handy for restoring mirror-like images, such as selfies, to their normal orientation.
  • Turning on both horizontal and vertical flip gives the same result as a 180° rotation, so check whether you only need one of them.
  • Rotation and flipping are lossless, re-placing pixels with no quality loss, so you can repeat them as often as you like.
  • If the original is a JPG the result is saved as JPG, and a PNG as PNG. The transparency of a transparent PNG is preserved as well.
  • After fixing the orientation, if there are unwanted edges, clean them up next with the 'Crop Image' tool.

FAQ

Does rotating crop the photo?

No. For 90° and 270° rotations the canvas is created with the width and height swapped and the image drawn onto it, so the whole image is saved with no cropping.

Can I use an arbitrary angle, like 17 degrees?

This tool supports rotation in 0, 90, 180, and 270° steps. Rotation in 90° steps has no quality loss whatsoever.

Can I use horizontal and vertical flip together?

Yes. Turning on both produces an effect similar to a 180° rotation, and they can also be combined with rotation.

Can I see the result before applying?

Yes. Every time you change the rotation angle or flip, the preview turns in real time, so you can confirm the orientation you want and then apply it.

Are images uploaded to a server?

No. Rotation and flipping are processed 100% in your browser, and the photo is never sent anywhere.

Does processing change the format?

It keeps the original format: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, and WEBP stays WEBP. To change the format, use the 'Convert Format' tool.

Can I rotate several images at once?

For now it processes one image at a time. If you have several, apply and save them one by one.

Does the file size change after rotating?

JPG and WEBP are re-encoded, so the size may change slightly, while PNG is lossless and stays nearly the same. You can check the size on the result screen.
